Frank Schwoeri, Ph.D.
Frank J. Schwoeri, Ph.D., is a licensed psychologist with over
25 years experience. He is a founding member of the Temenos Center. He
has been Director of Psychology at Hampton Hospital where he co-led the
Dual Diagnosis/Substance Abuse Unit. He holds certification in the Treatment
of Alcohol and Substance Use Disorders from the APA College of Professional
Psychology.
He was Clinical Assistant Professor in the Psychiatry Departments at
the Medical College of Pennsylvania and at Hahnemann University, where
he was also Assistant Director of Child/Adolescent Outpatient Psychiatry.
He has taught at several other area colleges and universities, including
Bryn Mawr and Swarthmore. He received post-doctoral training with the
Philadelphia Academy of Psychoanalysis and is a graduate of the Object
Relations Therapy Program of the Washington School of Psychiatry.
Dr. Schwoeri specializes in intensive individual psychotherapy for a
broad range of problems and the treatment of addictions, dual disorders,
and chronic pain. He also provides forensic psychological evaluations
and expert testimony for child custody and parental rights cases.
Dr. Schwoeri is a dynamic speaker and has presented at numerous workshops
and seminars. He provides individual and group clinical supervision and
offers a number of workshops on such topics as PTSD and Substance
Abuse and Using Attachment Theory and Relational Processes
in Clinical Work.
